A Swedish airport has come up with an ingenious way to help travellers part with their leftover currency.

Sweden's largest airports, Stockholm Arlanda and Goteborg Landvetter, have introduced three retro arcade video games custom-designed to take coins of any currency.

While travellers are waiting to collect luggage, they can now kill time playing arcade classics such as Ms Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Galaga.

The games are located in 'Charity Arcade' at the airports, and all monies collected from the games are donated to the Swedish Red Cross.

"The Charity Arcades is a way for us to emphasise our partnership with the Swedish Red Cross in a creative and inspiring way," says Michael Persson Gripkow, marketing director at Swedavia, Swedish Airports.

"The travellers get a fun retro experience at the airport and at the same time they have the opportunity to contribute to the important work of the Red Cross."
