DO

Did you even come to LA if you didn't do the Runyon Canyon hike? It's a 40-minute to one-hour trail in the heart of Hollywood with views of the famous sign and, on a clear day, views to Santa Monica and Downtown, runyoncanyonhike.com

EAT

If you have time to trek to Malibu, Nobu on the water is a special place to be. Gjelina in Venice is fantastic, Bestia Downtown also gets a nod and, for the plant lovers, Gracias Madre is a vegan, organic, Mexican hot spot worth looking at, noburestaurants.com or gjelina.com or bestiala.com and graciasmadreweho.com

DRINK

Come and visit me at E.P. & L.P. in West Hollywood. Start with a meal downstairs at E.P. with exec chef Louis Tikaram at the helm then head up to the roof until late on the L.P. deck. Pro tip: to avoid the lines to get in, try to get there before 9.30pm, eplosangeles.com

AVOID

The walk of fame is the worst thing you can possibly do while here. It's full of hustlers and it's a bad reflection on the LA experience. See discoverlosangeles.com
