WHICH WAS YOUR BEST HOLIDAY?
My honeymoon on Lizard Island in Australia. It's an amazing national park, where everything man-made is built with respect to the natural environment. Not many people can stay there at once and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We had our own boat, so we went for small trips to other beaches and smaller islands close by. This is definitely a place that I'd love to return to soon.

AND THE BEST HOTEL YOU'VE STAYED IN?
Soren (my husband) and I drove from New Orleans across the United States. We didn't have any plans, we just read up on hotels and sights while on the road. We stopped in Marathon at a beautiful small hotel named Gage Hotel. It was like walking into a western movie! We stayed only one night, but I've always wanted to go back to this remarkable place in the middle of the desert.
WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS TAKE WITH YOU?
I always bring my Uggs – regardless of whether it's a summer or a winter holiday. They're the best things ever made for my feet. And I don't care if people look at me weirdly if I wear them in sweltering heat!
WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR A PERFECT HOLIDAY?
I don't want any stress on a holiday, which is probably why I don't over-plan. I'm very impulsive, so I like to take things as they come.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST PIECE OF TRAVEL ADVICE?
My best piece of advice is definitely to keep an open mind and be patient because things don't always turn out the way you thought they would.
AND YOUR WORST EXPERIENCE ON HOLIDAY?
I can't remember any really bad holiday experiences. But there was this time I spontaneously travelled to Ghana between tours and the travel company sent me to a resort in a really noisy, dirty city. After two days I managed to get out of there to a much more quiet and relaxing resort, where I enjoyed the rest of the week in peace.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST PACKING MISTAKE YOU'VE MADE?
I have a tendency to pack way too much, which is a bad habit from my hectic touring days. I am working on bringing lighter suitcases, but I still end up with stuff I don't use, or even need.
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO NEXT?
I really want to see more of South America. I went on a boy's trip to Peru with my father a couple of months back. I love history, and the Inca civilisation has fascinated me since I was a kid. It felt great to walk in their footsteps. I'm definitely ready for more of those experiences.
