Schapelle almost fit for prison

Schapelle Corby's mental condition is improving with the help of anti-depressant drugs and she may return to prison next week, doctors say.

Nyoman Rapet, who is leading a team of doctors treating the convicted drug smuggler, says Corby needs to stay in hospital for a little while longer.

Corby, 31, is undergoing psychiatric treatment at a public hospital in Denpasar.

She was moved there this week from a police hospital, where she'd been undergoing treatment since last Friday.

Rapet on Friday said Corby was under immense mental pressure, was acting paranoid and felt trapped, sad and angry over her situation.

"We are observing her every day for a week and when she's well, she will go back to prison," Rapet told reporters.

"We can't say how long, maybe another week.

"She's been given anti-depressant medicine to help her mood."

Corby's condition had also improved with the presence of her sister Mercedes and mother Rosleigh Rose, he said.

"She's calmer ... she's more cooperative now and willing to talk," he said.

Rapet said Corby had not tried to physically harm herself.
