A Gold Coast man has been charged after he and his female companion were sprung while allegedly attempting to join the "mile-high club" on a flight from Brisbane over the weekend.
The 44-year-old man and his 39-year-old partner were arrested upon their arrival at Mackay Airport in north Queensland, aboard a Jetstar flight, about 8.30am local time on Saturday, police said.
It was alleged the man became abusive towards cabin crew after he and the woman were found together in the plane’s toilet.
The man was charged with disorderly conduct on an aircraft under the Civil Aviation Safety Act, but his partner was released without charge.
He was released from custody on bail and is due to face Mackay Magistrates Court on December 20.
Flights were reportedly delayed 30 minutes at Mackay Airport as a result of the incident.
