Sydney awoke Thursday morning to the spectacular sight of two Cunard Queens in the Harbour - Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria.

The arrival of the two ships is the first time Cunard's Queens have made a dual visit to Sydney for the Cunard 'Royal Rendezvous', a visit which coincides with a photographic exhibition that marks Cunard's 175th anniversary.

The 70 photographs on show, shot by Sydney-based photographer James Morgan, provide a rare behind-the-scenes look into the Cunard's three Queen fleet - Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth from around the globe.

The OneSevenFive exhibition features some never-seen-before photos, including images of the ships' masters and crew at work – and relaxing – on their ships, and pictures from the trio's maiden visits to Sydney Harbour.

The photographs are on display to the public on two-metre high stands along the Sydney Opera House's western boardwalk. The exhibition will be on show for 175 hours until late Thursday March 19.

The Cunard Royal Rendezvous will form the inspiration for the exhibition's final two images, which will be taken by Mr Morgan on Thursday and installed Friday morning (13 March).

The 151,400-tonne Queen Mary 2 is the biggest ship to have visited Australia. She will spend Thursday at the Overseas Passenger Terminal while Queen Victoria anchors at Athol Buoy near Taronga Zoo.

Queen Mary 2 will depart Circular Quay at about 9pm with fireworks show. She will sail past her younger sister Queen Victoria at approximately 9:15pm.
