Using the Momondo metasearch engine, if you were to fly on Friday, April 13, 2018, from Melbourne to Athens you could pay as little as $527 for a one-way ticket.

However, if you were to take the same flight a week later you could pay even less – an astonishing $396.

That's with Scoot as sold by Myholidays, in case you're interested.

A one-way trip from Sydney to New York on Friday, April 13 is $669. Flying the same route on Friday, April 6, the price is exactly the same.

In China the number four is considered unlucky since it sounds like the word for death.

For a one-way flight from Sydney to Shanghai on April 4, prices start at $346. One week later the lowest price is the same. The cheapest day to fly that route during April turns out to be Friday, April 6, when the ticket costs $274.

While some numbers might have special significance for superstitious flyers, the only numbers the airlines really care about is the ticket price, and that has nothing to do with superstition.
