THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS

I grew up in Cooma. I went to primary school there and started high school in Jindabyne for one year before I started travelling the globe for snowboarding and completed school by correspondence.

I tried skiing and snowboarding for the first time in Thredbo, which obviously made a huge impact on my life. Learning those skills meant I was given so many opportunities and now I have a wonderful enchanted life and career.

SAPPADA, ITALY

The Junior World Championships in Sappada, Italy was a very influential time in my life. I placed third there, and that showed myself, my family and others that perhaps I had some skills and they pushed me to keep going with it. That next year I went to the States and got immersed in the action sports industry there.

MANLY, NSW

When I think of Australia I think of Manly. My family and I would always go there in the summer and last year we had Christmas there. Every time I am back in Australia I go to Manly. It's a really special place to me. I could see myself living on the Northern Beaches.

MOROCCO

The most fascinating destination that snowboarding has taken me is Morocco. It's such a different culture there and we were able to experience Marrakesh and then went up into the Atlas Mountains. The snow was red because the desert sand had blown in, and there were all these families wearing burqas going up and down riding sleds. We got caught in the snowfall of the century and were snowed in with no electricity, no nothing. It was just a rad cultural adventure.

SALT LAKE CITY

I got my driver's licence in Salt Lake City, America. I was 16 and Mum was heading back to Australia after the winter, and the first time I drove by myself I was driving back from the airport from dropping her off. So I dropped my mother off and drove home by myself for the first time in my own car and I just had complete freedom.
