There's something that's both exciting and extremely daunting about setting out to travel on your own. The world is your oyster. The possibilities are endless. And yet… You're doing all this by yourself?

You're haggling for rickshaws by yourself. You're finding your hostel by yourself. You're going out to eat by yourself, catching the train by yourself, and sitting around in bars by yourself.

Solo travel is the ultimate in independence, and yet it could also be the recipe for some pretty lonely, and sometimes even scary times. Is it all worth it?

On this episode of Flight of Fancy: the traveller.com.au podcast, host Ben Groundwater is joined by writer Nina Karnikowski, and filmmaker Tim Charody to talk about the fine art of travelling solo: the good, the bad, and the scary. It's all about seeing the world on your own terms, making your own decisions, going your own way, and finding out that you're capable of far more than you ever thought possible.
