HOTEL

There are so many great hotels around the world but one that I've stayed at many times is the Kensington Hotel in London. It's in a great spot, close to Hyde Park, a tube station, shops, good food etc. It's a really comfy, clean and friendly place to rest your weary head. See doylecollection.com.

AIRLINE

When travelling for music, Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic. The Virgin airlines make it easier for us complicated types. They seem to understand that our baggage needs can be a little extraordinary. Plus, the Virgin lounge is one of my favourites.

RESORT

I love staying at Movenpick Resort and Spa, Karon Beach, south of Phuket. It's in a beautiful spot just outside of the busy areas and not too big, so it still feels like your own place. I've always loved exploring Thailand, particularly the less-travelled north. You won't find many luxury resorts up there, but you will get a clearer sense of the culture. See movenpick-hotels.com.

LUGGAGE

My luggage has to have wheels - four preferably, as I'm usually carrying a guitar and some other odd bit of awkward musical gear. I need to be able to move my bag with my feet.
