MY BEST HOLIDAY

Has to be Greece. I love it a) because it's absolutely beautiful – it really is my favourite spot in the world. And b) considering my Greek heritage, it means a lot to me on a personal level.

THE BEST HOTEL I'VE STAYED IN

Was when I headlined the Dubai Food Festival in March and I stayed at Armani Hotel – it's absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was stunned. The rooms, the view, the service – everything is just incredible. It's also such a great location in downtown Dubai, which is right next to the Burj Khalifa.

I ALWAYS TAKE

My little black notebook; you never know when something is going to pop into your head to give you new inspiration and that's what travelling is all about. I love bringing home new spices and ingredients to try in my cooking at home.

THE INGREDIENTS FOR A PERFECT HOLIDAY INCLUDE

I live and breathe food, so great food is a must and of course great company, plus being somewhere that is both sunny and safe.

THE BEST PIECE OF TRAVEL ADVICE

Be prepared. Get as much information as you can on where you're going, the people and the culture. Also, be respectful. You're in someone else's country, so it goes a long way to respect the local traditions and customs. Finally, don't do the touristy stuff. Authentic, local experiences are the most memorable.

MY WORST EXPERIENCE ON HOLIDAY

Getting food poisoning. That's definitely not what you want on a holiday.

MY BIGGEST PACKING MISTAKE

I take olive oil with me everywhere as I can't cook without it. But putting a bottle of it in my bag and having it explode was definitely a huge mistake. I won't do that again.

NEXT ON MY LIST

Japan. I've heard so much about it and I can't wait to visit and see what new experiences it has to offer and of course I can't wait to try the food.
