How do I book apartments in France?

As a frequent traveller, I have taken on the job of organising a trip to Europe for my sister, her husband and three children. This will be her first overseas experience so I'd like to make it as comfortable as possible. They would like to spend at least two weeks in France. Do you have suggestions for reputable accommodation agents for booking apartments all around France?

B. COOKE, BATHURST

Apartments vary so much within a country that I prefer to do my own picking and choosing rather than leaving all the booking to a single agency.

A couple of solid resources that I would use in this case are Sawdays (sawdays.co.uk) and i-escape (i-escape.com).

Sawdays is particularly good when you're looking for self-catering accommodation in villages and rural areas and you can filter by size and facilities.

You can also use the map view to zoom in on potential stays in the area you're looking to explore which helps narrow down the selection process.

In Paris, Petite Paris (petiteparis.com.au) is my go-to choice for private accommodation, with a lovely collection of apartments on their books.

Cross reference your selections with TripAdvisor (tripadvisor.com.au) just to be absolutely sure you've made the right choices.
