Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has filmed a promotional clip with Air New Zealand while under house arrest - just hours before appearing in court for drinking.
Hollywood site TMZ reported Lohan, 24, spent Wednesday filming a sketch with Rico, the Kiwi airline's furry puppet mascot, at her Los Angeles apartment.
"It's funny, but given Lindsay's current situation ... the timing ain't ideal for her," TMZ said.
Air New Zealand confirmed it had been in LA this week filming with TV host Giuliana Rancic and former Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff.
"[We] also swung by to see Lindsay Lohan," the airline said.
The star is a controversial choice as she is under house arrest for stealing a necklace in January. She was recalled to court on Thursday after failing a breath test last week.
At her appearance, the judge warned Lohan to behave herself as she nears the end of an expected 35 days of home confinement, and banned her from holding further parties.
Lohan was sentenced in May to four months jail and 480 hours of community service after pleading no contest to the jewellery theft.
She was given a shorter term of house arrest because of jail overcrowding and because she is a nonviolent offender.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan that for the rest of her house arrest, due to end on June 29, she could not have more than one friend or relative over to her home in the California beach resort of Venice.
"Don't give people reason to hate you. Don't do stupid things that fly in the spirit of the court's order," she told Lohan.
"You know I sentenced you to jail. You know I didn't sentence you to house arrest, and what do you do? You have barbecues at your house so your neighbours are writing letters about you," Sautner told her.
Lohan's once promising Hollywood career has been derailed because of drug and alcohol addiction and repeated run-ins with the law. However she is due to start filming a movie about New York crime boss John Gotti later this year with co-stars John Travolta and Al Pacino.
