NEW PARTNERSHIP

National Geographic and Scenic have teamed up to launch a new line of river cruises in Europe and Southeast Asia that combine Scenic's all-inclusive luxury experience with National Geographic's legacy of science, conservation and exploration. An expert from National Geographic will join guests to share their knowledge, give presentations and join informal discussions. On European river cruises there will also be a National Geographic photographer providing tips and techniques. Numerous itineraries will be offered on the Irrawaddy in Myanmar and on rivers in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and Portugal.

It visits Budapest for a call at magnificent Dohány Street Synagogue and a guided walk through the old Jewish District, and Regensburg, where passengers can see remnants of medieval Jewish history, the home of World War II hero Oskar Schindler, and modern landmarks of today's Jewish community. BIG RED LAND

Ponant has released its series of 10- to 13-night Kimberley expedition voyages between May and August 2020 on new 92-cabin ship, Le Lapérouse, accompanied by an expedition team and award-winning wildlife photographer Mick Fogg, a veteran of over 300 expedition cruises. Regular Zodiac excursions will get guests close to King George Falls, the Horizontal Falls and Montgomery Reef along the 1200-kilometre Kimberley coastline, most of which is inaccessible from land. There will also be four opportunities to see the landscape from the air, plus chances to see rare Wandjina and Gwion Gwion rock art.

SEVEN CONTINENTS

Silversea is offering a "World Cruise" in 2020 that sees it visit 62 ports over 140 days on an itinerary between Fort Lauderdale, in Florida, and Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, aboard Silver Whisper. What sets it apart from other world cruises, however, is that it will visit all seven continents, including a three-day visit to Antarctica, and will feature Zodiac excursions in several parts of the world. Silver Whisper is set to undergo extensive refurbishment this December, with renovations of its spa, top suites and various other public spaces.
