GO WITH THE FLOW

UTracks has a new self-guided bike-and-boat itinerary from Mainz in Germany to Strasbourg in France that takes in the Rhine Valley's Black Forest and Alsace wine region. The eight-day itinerary allows cyclists to set their own pace, mainly along dedicated cycle routes, and visit churches, castles and towns such as Speyer and Strasbourg. In the evenings, they can return to their barge for an evening meal and well-deserved night's sleep. Families and other small groups can charter an entire boat. UTracks, which specialises in active European holidays, also has several other new bike-and-barge itineraries this year.
