No prams or babies at inspections?

Do i have to leave my pram and baby outside?

By Lucy Macken

Q You said recently that mothers should leave prams outside at open inspection.

Surely in wet weather I can hardly be expected to leave baby and pram out in the street to get wet and yet one agent on Saturday seemed to think that was reasonable.

Karin, Cremorne

A I did say the pram should stay outside but not the baby.

You must bring bubs in, not just because to leave said progeny outside is illegal but to get a feel for how child-friendly the home is.

Set them running through the living area, climbing the stairs, testing the bathroom.

The pram is another matter. It stays outside and never more so than in wet weather.

Again, think track marks on the floor, scuffs on the freshly painted walls and a big obstacle for everyone else to manoeuvre around.
