The Park Hyatt Bangkok: Oasis of cool

In a city of great hotels, newcomers need a point of difference.

The Park Hyatt Bangkok radiates understated calm amidst the glitz, glam and fast pace. Occupying the ninth to 35th floors of the Central Embassy building in Phloen Chit, a curving coil by Amanda Levete's London practice AL_A, it takes advantage of that form, with interiors by New York and Toronto-based firm Yabu Pushelberg that create tranquillity with a soft palette of neutrals. They also play to the exterior asymmetry – all of the 222 rooms and suites are laid out differently.

Bangkok is also a city of great pools with amazing views and the Park Hyatt meets the challenge with a ninth-floor city-view, 40-metre infinity pool, plus a 24-hour fitness centre and the Panpuri Spa, with eight treatment rooms.

And The Penthouse Bar and Grill is home to a cocktail bar with resident DJ and fabulous rooftop terrace.

Another way the hotel seeks to stand out is with personalised guest experience: a concierge is on hand to arrange cooking classes, picnics, visits to markets, you name it.
