Qantas has accepted Air New Zealand's Running Man Challenge, showing off their moves on the tarmac.

The airline is one of many organisations to tackle the dance challenge - where people upload videos of themselves doing the Running Man dance to a popular 90s song.

The airline posted the clip on its official Facebook page on Tuesday night accepting the neighbouring airline's dare before passing the challenge on to American Airlines.

About 15 flight attendants took to the competition in triangle formation, busting out the internet-viral move.

But the performance was stolen by the iconic Qantas kangaroo who joined the twirling team to defeat Air New Zealand.

The airline's video was greeted with delight by Facebook users who classified Qantas' video as a clear win.

"Hands down, Qantas, you owned it! I looove it. That guy even did the DAB! lol," Miracle Tauvao said on Facebook.

"Qantas won this without a doubt, proud of you Qantas," Donna Hubbard added.

The video has been viewed more than 230,000 times since it was uploaded.
