Seeing red: passenger live tweets in-flight fight

Notes on a plane: war of words erupts between two passengers.

No one likes a rude fellow passenger. Not on a bus, not on a train and particularly not in the confined space of a plane 30,000 feet above the ground. But even the traditionally love-filled US Thanksgiving holiday was not enough to keep the mood pleasant on a US Airways flight this week.

The US TV producer, Elan Gale, trod where few would dare. He used Twitter to detail a minute-by-minute account of him taking a stand against middle-aged "Diane", who is fast becoming known as the world's rudest passenger.

Diane, according to Gale's hilarious and audacious take on the situation, was outraged because their flight to Phoenix on Thursday was delayed, meaning she would be late arriving to help her family with their turkey stuffing.

Gale, whose Twitter account says he is a producer on the ABC's The Bachelor, tried to placate Diane with a glass of red. He failed and they were embroiled in a bitter war of words that only ended with a slap at the arrivals gate.
