Taj Group's latest hotel is the very newly opened Taj Dubai in the Burj Khalifa downtown area, enviably positioned by landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and Business Bay. Featuring luxuriously palatial interiors as one expects from a Dubai hotel, this one is nonetheless tastefully and distinctly Taj. Its Indian aesthetic runs throughout, albeit with an elegant restraint.

But the group certainly hasn't held back on inclusions designed to attract top end clientele. Positioning Taj Dubai (Taj's second hotel in the city) as the flagship of intended growth in the Middle Eastern market, the 296-room hotel is offering some serious wow factor. The Taj Club rooms (20 junior and 14 luxury suites) are crowned by two huge and lavishly appointed theme suites, The Tata Suite and The Maharaja Suite, occupying the top floors.

Sure to appeal to the UAE elite, the hotel also includes The Chambers, a members-only club elite, invitation-only lounge featuring conference facilities and business assistance, as well as fine dining.

The Kids@Taj children's program, an exquisite Jiva Spa, and no less than seven food and beverage outlets round out the offerings. Restaurants range from Indian to Peruvian, with areas dedicated to all manner of imbibing: business lunches, afternoon tea, cocktails and evening sheesha.

Rooms from $156 (AED451). See tajhotels.com.
