The godfather of the boutique hotel (of Morgans fame, plus he was a Studio 54 co-owner back in the day) Ian Schrager has created a stunning new property in Turkey. The Bodrum EDITION is the fifth EDITION Hotels property, a collection of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels that are a partnership between Schrager and Marriott International.

On the Turkish Riviera at Yalikavak bay, the Bodrum EDITION inhabits 22,000 square metres of waterfront in a wind-sheltered cove, and is designed to amplify the surrounding natural Mediterranean beauty. Native olive trees and local stone characterise the grounds that run from the hotel's glass atrium reception area which greets guests with stunning ocean views, down to the 100-metre private beach.

Among the hotel's 102 guest rooms, there are bungalows and a four-bedroom private villa with private pools. They feature warm wood finishes and airy fabrics to exude a relaxed, beach house vibe.

Meandering pathways lead to lounge bars, and cocktail areas, as well as the hotel's two signature restaurants by the pioneering Peruvian chef Diego Munoz, formerly of the much-celebrated El Bulli and Mugaritz.

And what would a Mediterranean resort designed by a disco impresario be without its own night spot. For the socially inclined, there's Discetto, where late night revelry and craft cocktails are accompanied by live music and DJs.

For recovery, there's an infinity pool, garden lounge, and state-of-the art spa with Turkish Hammam, salt treatment room, sauna, steam room and plunge pool alongside 14 treatment rooms.

Or there's the beach, with its own bar and club with private cabanas, plus a jetty to welcome visitors yachting in from the nearby Greek islands, a 50-minute sail away.

Rates starting from €350 per night, including breakfast. See editionhotels.com
