'The Floating Piers' installation by Christo opens on Lake Iseo, Italy: Photos

Loading

'The Floating Piers', an installation by Bulgarian-born artist Christo Vladimirov Yavachev, known as Christo, has opened on Lake Iseo in northern Italy. Some 200,000 floating cubes create a 3-kilometre runway clad in bright yellow fabric and connecting the town of Sulzano to the small island of Monte Isola on the lake.

The walkway will only be there for 16 days, closing on July 3. So if you can't make it there yourself, do the next best thing by taking a photo tour of the walkway in the gallery above.
