This is how much it costs to rent a sunlounger at the world's most popular beaches

How much would you be prepared to spend on a day at the beach? From parasols to sandwiches, the charges for seaside essentials and family entertainment can quickly pile up.
The most expensive of the world's 30 most popular beaches will set you back up to £340.74 ($A608) per person, per day, according to new research.
Parasols and sunloungers (often combined in a package deal at overseas beaches) were one of the most extortionate beach costs, based on analysis by parasol supplier, We Are Promotional.
Waikiki beach in Honolulu, Hawaii was the dearest. Parasols and sun loungers were only available as a $50/$A74 per day combined package. This works out at around $9 per hour over eight hours.
South Beach, Florida was the second most expensive. It offered parasols and sun loungers separately, but they came at a combined price of $A51.80.
Bournemouth Beach was the only UK beach among the top 10 most expensive for parasols and sunloungers. Its combined charge was £13 ($A23) per day, which works out at £1.60 per hour.
Of the 30 most popular beaches, as measured by number of TripAdvisor reviews, a fee was required for parasols and beach loungers on all.
Also in the top 10 most expensive beaches for combined parasol and sunlounger hire were:
- Tropea, Italy ($41 per day; $5.16 per hour)
- Nazare, Portugal ($34.70 per day; $4.33 per hour)
- Lloret de Mar, Spain ($33.06 per day; $4.12 per hour)
- Bondi Beach, Australia ($30.00 per day; $3.75 per hour)
- Coney Island, USA ($29.56 per day; $3.69 per hour)
- Copacabana, Brazil ($21.69 per day; $2.69 per hour)
- Spiaggia Grande, Italy ($20.65 per day; $2.57 per hour)
Renaissance Island, also known as Flamingo Beach, was the most costly overall. The most expensive item on its £335.82 ($A599.58) receipt was a beach hut at £206.53 ($368.73) per day.
The study included costs for popular family beach activities and amenities, including watersports, parking and entrance fees, ice cream, sandwiches and soft drinks, beach beers, beach hut hire and wetsuit hire.
When looking at the total costs for a family of four, Coney Island, New York was the most costly, totting up to $1863 per day. Bournemouth was the most expensive UK beach for a family, at $830 per day.
When all costs were combined, Huiquan Bathing Beach in China was the cheapest at $15.50 per person, per day.
Costs were taken from a number of sources, including TripAdvisor, Airbnb and service providers' websites.
