Readers on this 15-day, experts-led journey around the grand musical cities of Central Europe will join in the celebrations of the illustrious yet challenged life of Ludwig van Beethoven, born 250 years ago next year.
You’ll visit key locations in the life of the composer and pianist, including his birthplace, Bonn, Germany, where you’ll learn about Beethoven’s fascinating early life, as well as experience some of the Continent’s most stunning and historic religious and cultural gathering places. This Beethoven 250th birthday tour, in partnership with Gullivers Music Travel, will be led by the erudite David Slater, who is a leading figure in Australia’s and Europe’s classical music scene.
Not only will David deliver exclusive talks on Beethoven’s life and music, you will also have the chance to meet two Europe-based music experts, Janos Czifra and Roland Horvath, who will share some of their own fascinating, in-depth musical knowledge.
Of course, the itinerary is not all talk. We’ve been sure to include five classcial concerts from next year’s official program, where you’ll be able to enjoy some of Beethoven’s music.
