Travelling with renal failure

Extensive travels across North America and France and Spain require good planning while a dialysis patient needs to travel with the experts.

I HAVE RENAL FAILURE AND NEED DIALYSIS THREE TIMES A WEEK. I WOULD LIKE TO GO ON A 5-7 DAY EUROPEAN RIVER CRUISE. WHILE SOME CRUISES PROVIDE TREATMENT I'M HAVING TROUBLE FINDING REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING COSTS. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO WOULD LOVE TO TRAVEL IF ONLY THEY COULD GET ADVICE ON WHERE AND HOW TO GET TREATMENT, CAN YOU HELP?

Dialysis Holidays UK (dialysisholidays.co.uk) is a specialist travel agency for travellers with your condition and they advertise a 7-day Danube River cruise on the Mozart. They also have a number of other cruising alternatives. Another specialist travel operator for those with renal failure is Adelaide-based Dialysis Abroad (dialysisabroad.com.au). US-based Dialysis at Sea (dialysisatsea.com) is a large tour agency that organises cruises designed for dialysis patients, sailing on select cruises with Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Celebrity Cruise Lines. Kidney Health Australia (kidney.org.au) has a page on Dialysis and Travel that might also prove useful.
