Two more Star Wars planes to take off with All Nippon Airways

ANA will now have three different Star Wars themed planes.

ANA will now have three different Star Wars themed planes.

Japan's All Nippon Airways will add two new Star Wars-inspired Boeing aircrafts to its fleet.

A Boeing 777-300ER plane, which will begin operation in March, between Japan and the USA, which will bear illustrations inspired by the BB-8 droid.

The droid features in the seventh film of the franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The aircraft will have designs based on the robot in its fuselage, while the nose of the plane will be designed like the head of the robot.

The plane joins the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (designed on the iconic R2-D2 robot), which was first shown in April, and which will begin operation in October along the Tokyo-Vancouver route in Canada.

Later, the R2-D2 Jet will cover routes between Japan and other cities such as Seattle, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Sydney, Beijing and Jakarta.

"I'm sure (Star Wars) fans across the world will love the look," ANA president Osamu Shinobe said in a statement.

The initiative falls under a five-year partnership, signed in April between the airline and Walt Disney that owns the rights to the saga.
