What if ... I want a first-time African Safari
WHAT IF … I WANT A FIRST-TIME AFRICAN SAFARI, WITH EXCELLENT GAME VIEWING AND MID-RANGE COST?
… according to Julia Salnicki, travel designer, the Classic Safari Company
"My recommendation for first-time visitors is head to South Africa. Not only are you getting a top wildlife experience but there is a range of safari camps for all budgets. One of our favourite mid-range camps is Nottens Camp in the Sabi Sand area of Kruger National Park. It's small with only nine cottages and while fairly rustic, (no mains power in the cottages), offers daily bush walks and game drives. Another small camp that we love in the same area of Kruger is Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp. While more expensive than Nottens it has just six suites and offers day and night game drives. In the Timbavati section of Kruger, Umlani Bush Camp is our pick for a budget option. Tried and tested, this great eco lodge offers nine thatched cottages including family units."
