What if: I'm over 70, can I get travel insurance at a reasonable price?

WHAT IF… I'M OVER 70, CAN I GET TRAVEL INSURANCE AT A REASONABLE PRICE?

… according to Bessie Hassan, Money Expert at finder.com.au

"As a general rule, travel insurance prices tend to increase after turning 60. As we get older we're also more likely to have health issues, which may require an additional fee to cover. However, there are many ways to save on travel insurance. Firstly, if you have an active Seniors Card, you'll often be eligible for a discount. Sometimes there can also be discounts for buying online rather than over the phone, or for holding multiple policies with the same provider, for example if you already have home and car insurance policies with the one insurer. You'll also save by buying direct –finder.com.au research shows travel insurance policies purchased through travel agents and airlines can cost two to three times more than policies bought directly from an insurer. These days you can easily and quickly compare quotes across a number of brands online to find the best value for money."
