WHAT'S THE BEST WAY OF GETTING BETWEEN SARDINIA, MALTA, CRETE AND GREECE IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2018? G. HEATH, SUNRISE BEACH QLD
Flying is the most practical way, using major airline hubs to travel from one destination to the next. If you start from Athens, you could fly to Heraklion in Crete, then to Cagliari in Sardinia via Rome, and finally to Malta also via Rome.
I would definitely not be doing this in August. These are all major tourist destinations, August is peak time, and you'll find crowds everywhere.
Far better to begin your journey in mid-September, by which time the hordes from the paler parts of Europe will be back at work and school. Flight prices and hotels should also be cheaper. These are all balmy islands, and you can count on sunshine and warm seas until well into October.
