Winter version of 'Best Job in the World' on offer

A winter version of the "Best Job in the World" is being offered by a beer maker to a couple of keen and amiable snowboarders.

Unlike the original which offered the winner of a worldwide contest a ranger's job on a Great Barrier Reef island, the latest ultimate job is in the Victorian snowfields.

Brewer Carlton and United (CUB) is looking for two young Aussies to become snow ambassadors at Falls Creek.

As well as possessing advanced snowboarding experience, the eligible candidates need to be "up for having a good time, enjoy having a beer or two, all while making some new mates along the way".

The position is open for 11 weeks from the middle of June during which the two successful candidates will be responsible for hosting groups of snow-goers on the slopes.

For their trouble they will receive an attractive remuneration package, free accommodation and free beer.

"We're giving two Aussies the chance to live the dream this winter, getting paid for carving up the slopes and showing snowgoers the ultimate experience at Falls Creek," said Andrew Meldrum, general manager of marketing for Carlton Dry at CUB.

The snow ambassadors will also be paid $200 a day.

Australia's original "Best Job in the World" of ranger on Hamilton Island was offered by Tourism Queensland in 2009 and won by Englishman Ben Southall, who was chosen from a field of 34,000 applicants from 200 countries.

It also resulted in the production of a BBC documentary that achieved massive ratings.
