Air New Zealand's new 'Hollywood' safety video featuring Anna Faris and Rhys Darby

Updated

Air New Zealand has released a new safety video starring American actress Anna Faris and Kiwi comedian Rhys Darby.

"Safety in Hollywood" was shot at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles, and explores different film genres as Darby attempts to convince the Scary Movie star to appear in Air New Zealand's new safety video.

The video was filmed at four different sets at Warner Bros. with some of the filming locations seen in legendary movies like Jurassic Park, Casablanca, War of the Worlds and TV series True Blood.

Faris said it was an honour to follow in the footsteps of "acting legends" like Betty White, the cast of The Hobbit, and the All Blacks by appearing in the safety video.

"Working with Kiwi actor Rhys Darby was an absolute treat," she said.

"It's so easy to tune out when watching a traditional safety video, so it comes as such a delightful surprise when you get something that's really fun and funny."

Darby said producing the safety video was a special experience as he is now based in Hollywood.

"Air New Zealand's safety videos are a Kiwi staple and reflect the Kiwi sense of humour," he said.

"I think people will really enjoy watching this safety video as it takes them on a magical ride through the movie making world, while still bringing to life the key safety messages."

The video will be rolled out across the airline's fleet from Thursday.
