How is your travel budget looking these days? If you are anything like the rest of us, it is shrinking rapidly. In between stagnating wages, rising costs and a heavy helping of inflation, we are all looking at ways to cut costs.

Where you make those cuts depends on your travel style. Some people are happy sleeping in budget accommodation and putting the savings towards experiences instead. Others only travel off-season to take advantage of cheaper prices. And some of us will cut corners everywhere else in order to blow the budget on a couple of really good meals.

Whatever type of traveller you are, it is hard to pass up a freebie. And when you take a good look, there are all sorts of amazing experiences you can enjoy without shelling out a cent.

From classical concerts in Berlin to sailing trips in San Francisco and meditation classes in Bangkok, here is our guide to some of the best free experiences around the globe (though do check before you go as to whether charges have been suddenly applied, as can occur).
