While in Spain, I was lucky to catch a "recortes" (bull leaping) competition. The recortadores compete at dodging and leaping over a bull without the use of a cape or sword, allowing the bull to leave the ring unscathed. The speed and agility of the recortadores was amazing to watch, as you can see by this photo of one of them doing a complete back-flip over the bull. Photo: Liesel Koelmeyer -

We traveled through the French countryside during June and came across Notre- Dame De Senanque, an abbey and community of Cistern monks. Its beautiful Romanesque architecture is further enhanced in June and July by the blooming lavender fields that grow right up to the doors of the abbey.A truly wonderful place to visit. Temple St night market in Hong Kong is a crazy, frenetic row of stall after colourful stall. Wanting to get a perspective of it's real scale, I climbed up a nearby parking lot to capture the length of the market with it's colourful rooves. It seems to stretch forever in a riot of colour! A Molokan or “Milk Drinkers” village in the northern Armenian Caucasus. A pacifist Christian sect, marrying only within the community, here building no churches and drinking no alcohol (hence the name) they were exiled to this place from Russia as heretics in 1833 and remain as a small, poor community in a beautiful but challenging landscape almost two centuries later. Melissani Lake Cave, Kefalonia island Greece. June 2017, the best month of the year to go, warm and less tourists means more time to see more. The cave was peaceful and bigger than you initially see. Photo: Christina Edgar -

Driving through the Italian Alps offers plenty of amazing vistas and photo opportunities, like this one. A small village church perched high on a hill with the (still in June) snow capped mountains in the distance. Photo: Edward Rogowski
