Sir Richard Branson has availed another of his fabulous homes to luxury holidaymakers, adding The Branson Estate on Moskito Island to the roster of sumptuous stays on offer through Virgin Limited Edition.

It joins Necker Island (also in the British Virgin Islands) and the mega-catamaran, Necker Belle, The Lodge in the Swiss Alps, Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco and Mahali Mzuri in Kenya, all retreats for the Virgin founder and his friends now taking bookings from outside the inner sanctum, whether for the entire property or rooms within (depending on the property). Other properties in the group include Mont Rochelle Hotel and Mountain Vineyard in South Africa, Ulusaba Private Game Reserve and function centre, restaurant and club, The Roof Gardens and Babylon Restaurant in London.

Moskito Island comprises three villas, collectively offering accommodation for 22 people across 11 bedrooms. Each of them, as with all guest areas in the property, are oriented to make the most of the stunning water aspects. The plantation-style decor is subtle, allowing the aqua Caribbean expanse to be the hero.

Each villa has its own pool, but the main house, where all dining and socialising is centred, has a spectacular wraparound infinity pool, hot tub, swim-up bar and nearby tennis pavilion. All up, there's 50 hectares of glamour to soak up via paddleboards, kayaks, bicycles or just from the repose of a well-positioned sun lounger.

The Branson Estate is available for bookings from early 2016. The asking price? Just shy of $US50,000 a night. That includes all meals and drinks, a DJ one night of your stay – and bragging rights.
