ICE BOUND

Aurora Expeditions has launched its 2020-21 itineraries aboard its advanced new expedition ship Greg Mortimer. The program covers destinations such as Antarctica and the Arctic, Iceland, West Greenland and Costa Rica, and offers various adventure activities such as sea kayaking, rock climbing and polar diving. Among new itineraries is an epic 23-day Antarctica Complete journey south of the Antarctic Circle, an 11-day Iceland Circumnavigation and an 11-day West Greenland Explorer. A new 12-day Costa Rica & the Panama Canal cruise is accompanied by explorer and Aurora founder Greg Mortimer and wildlife photographer Richard L'Anson.

SAIL THE WORLD

Silversea's 150-day Finest World Tour in 2021 will visit 54 ports in 34 countries, with 28 overnight calls enabling guests to linger longer and enjoy evening attractions in 23 cities. Silver Whisper will depart Fort Lauderdale on January 7, 2021, and visit Central and South America, Easter Island, French Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia, before setting sail for Bali, South Korea and Japan and crossing Asia and the Middle East to the Mediterranean. After a transatlantic crossing and visit to Bermuda, the world cruise concludes in New York on June 6, 2021.

ISLAND ESCAPES

Paul Gauguin Cruises has set out its 2020 program in the South Pacific. The sailings feature the company's regular French Polynesia cruises from Tahiti to the Society Islands, Tuamotus and Marquesas, along with a 16-night Fiji to Bali itinerary departing on April 11, 2020, and 12- and 13-night Fiji, Tonga, Cook & Society Islands sailings in March and June 2020. On all sailings, guests visit the company's two exclusive islands. Motu Mahana offers water sports, Polynesian activities and a beach barbecue, while in Bora Bora guests relax on a private white-sand beach and enjoy snorkelling and paddle-boarding.

MORE ON SHORE

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has produced 65 new shore excursions in the Mediterranean and northern Europe for guests sailing on the inaugural 2020 season of Seven Seas Splendor. Among the excursions is a helicopter ride from Monaco to a meal at La Bastide de Moustiers, created by the famed French chef Alain Ducasse; a visit to Mercy Church in Naples to admire a Caravaggio masterpiece; and an unusual underground flamenco performance in a former mine in Spain. The new shore excursions will be rolled out on Regent's other ships sailing in Europe from 2021.

STAR ATTRACTIONS

Windstar Cruises is sailing its first country-intensive cruises in Australia and New Zealand in the 2020-21 season on the newly renovated, all-suite, 312-guest Star Breeze. Among them are its Signature Expedition series that promote expedition-style adventures and active excursions, with kayaks and Zodiacs launched from the ship in remote bays and harbours and expedition leaders providing expert knowledge. Cruises include Cairns-to-Melbourne, Melbourne-to-Sydney and Sydney-to-Auckland itineraries, plus a 15-day round-trip journey from Auckland. The 148-passenger Wind Spirit, now based year-round in Tahiti, is also expanding its South Pacific reach in 2020 to include Australia.
