Crystalbrook Collection has added to its ever growing portfolio of hotels in Australia with the launch of Crystalbrook Vincent at Brisbane's Howard Smith Wharves set beneath the Story Bridge.
Formerly known as The Fantauzzo, the hotel is the collection's seventh property to open in three years, making it Australia's biggest independent five-star portfolio of hotels and resorts based on the number of guest rooms.
While the hotel will retain its partnership with namesake Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo and his 500 pieces of art throughout the six-storey hotel, there will be a shift towards greater sustainability, starting with a single-use and plastic-free environment, according to its chief executive Geoff York.
"We're working to minimise our food carbon footprint by ensuring that at least 80 per cent of all produce served within the hotel is sourced within a three-hour radius," York says. The hotel was also embracing technology to reduce the need for waste, such as, paperless check in and check out and in-room tablet control centres.
Crystalbrook Vincent has 166 rooms, rooftop bar and pool, Polpetta restaurant and 24-hour fitness centre and is the fourth hotel in its Queensland portfolio, the three others are in Cairns.
Newcastle's Crystalbrook Kingsley opened in NSW last month adding to the Crystalbrook Albion in Sydney and Crystalbrook Byron, Byron Bay.
