The internet is awash with an endless archive of Taylor Swift images – so how does an artist offer Swifties something new?

Enter John Shakespeare. The Sydney Morning Herald and Age illustrator cracked open his watercolours this week to give the musician his artistic treatment.

Given the rainy week in the lead-up to the Sydney concerts and the weather forecast for Friday, he has chosen to have her emerging from the Harbour in soggy glitter boots alongside the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Take a close look at the water to spot some special Swifty touches Shakes has included.

Swift is due to play the first of her four Sydney shows at Accor Stadium on Friday night, after performing to her biggest crowds ever, 96,000 per night for three nights, in Melbourne last weekend.
