Dubai airport stopover lounge options

IN JUNE THIS YEAR MY WIFE AND I ARE TRAVELLING TO PRAGUE VIA DUBAI. WE HAVE ALMOST NINE HOURS IN DUBAI AIRPORT BETWEEN FLIGHTS. IS THERE A LOUNGE IN THE AIRPORT WHERE WE CAN HAVE A GOOD REST AND POSSIBLY A SHOWER BETWEEN THE TWO FLIGHTS? WE ARRIVE AND DEPART FROM TERMINAL THREE.

R. PAULL, FLINDERS

The only lounges you could use are the pay-for-use Marhaba Lounges (marhabaservices.com) located in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. They're a fair way short of what Emirates offers in its business class lounges in the same airport, but they're certainly a better option than the concourse open to the general public, which becomes packed like a bazaar in the period when you'll be transiting. The pick of the Marhaba Lounges is the one in Concourse A of Terminal 3. As well as buffet snacks, Wi-Fi and comfortable seating, the lounge has showers, but there's an added cost for using them, which seems to me like a low blow. Don't bother booking ahead – my wife did and they lost her booking.
