The newly-upgraded lounge was unveiled last week at Dubai International Airport, next door to the airline's First Class Lounge, and is designed specifically for unaccompanied minors.

The bright and contemporary facility also features free WI-FI, comfy new seating areas, PS4 gaming consoles, and washrooms designed with kids in mind.

The lounge also provides young guests with toys, activity packs and kid-sized headsets, as well as media facilities featuring a selection of more than 50 Disney movies and 130+ TV channels.

Parents or guardians of children aged between five and 11 are eligible to pre-book the Emirates Unaccompanied Minor service, as well as young travellers aged between 12 and 15.

Once kids are dropped off at Dubai Airport Terminal 3, Emirates' airport team will take the unaccompanied minor to a special lounge area for check-in, located between the Economy and First/Business Class check-in halls.

Pint-size commuters will then be assigned an airport chaperone to escort them through immigration and security checkpoints, and later from the lounge to the boarding gate.

They also get priority boarding, with Emirates' cabin crew on hand to welcome young flyers and help them settle in once onboard.

Emirates has a reputation for catering for families, with the airline offering young passengers take-home toys and bags onboard, featuring small Emirates characters inspired by Expo 2020 Dubai.
