Lysandra Fraser loved her Contiki tour and always packs Vegemite.
WHICH WAS YOUR BEST HOLIDAY?
Taking a Contiki tour around Europe when I was on a working holiday in London in 2005. It's something I think every young person should do. I took in Venice, Switzerland, Germany, Amsterdam, Italy, Austria, Holland and Paris. Amsterdam's a must for any young traveller - there's fantastic party life, I loved the boat cruises and visiting Anne Frank's apartment. Seeing Venice by gondolier was also amazing, as was climbing the Eiffel Tower.
AND THE BEST HOTEL YOU'VE STAYED IN?
Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The outside of the building is covered in gold, and the pool was amazing, with cocktails on tap.
WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS TAKE WITH YOU?
A tube of Vegemite, so I can still have my Vegemite on toast.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST PIECE OF TRAVEL ADVICE?
Research the destinations you're visiting to make sure they're safe and take precautions if needed. I'd also recommend always touching base with someone back home to let them know if you change your destination. Someone should always know where you are.
AND YOUR WORST EXPERIENCE ON HOLIDAY?
When I was in England in 2005 I was on the Tube one day when we came to a sudden stop. We were told to get off immediately; there were TV crews and people looking frantic everywhere. We soon discovered that trains had been bombed by suicide bombers. I was 21 and stranded. I still carry that tube ticket as a reminder of how lucky I was that day.
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO NEXT?
The Maldives or Bora Bora. Anywhere I can sit on the beach, go for a swim, get massages and just chill.
