You might think you know what to expect in Australia. You might think this country is a little predictable, maybe even a little staid. Everything is safe here. Everything is regulated and expected.

But that's not entirely true. Because there are some wild, wild experiences to be had here. Some fantastic experiences. Some outrageous experiences. Some experiences that will make you question if you're really still in your home country at all.

That means everything from heli-hiking in the Flinders Ranges to beach-bashing in a four-wheel drive. Everything from blindfolded abseiling to scuba-diving with sharks, from sleeping in a hotel-room chiselled out of rock, to jumping out of a plane.

Outrageous. Excellent. Fun.

On this episode of Flight of Fancy, the Traveller.com.au podcast, host Ben Groundwater is joined by fellow travel writers Ute Junker and Rob McFarland to shed some new light on the Australian travel experience. This is all about the wild and the unpredictable. About the careless and the care-free. About having outrageous experiences at home. What's the craziest thing you've ever done here? We're about to share ours.
