It takes a brave commentator to predict what's going to happen in 2021. Brave, or possibly even stupid.
What is this year going to look like for travellers? Where will we go? What will we do? The possibilities boggle the mind.
Think about last year, 2020. Think about how quickly the world changed, how quickly our lives changed. There is every chance that that will happen again this year, only – we hope – in ways that are far more positive and exciting.
So to begin Flight of Fancy in 2021, we're going to do something a little different. Normally we would cast our minds forward to the rest of the year and talk about destinations, the places we really want to go, the things we really want to do.
But this is 2021. Who knows what's going to happen? Perhaps we'll be able to go overseas again. Maybe we'll all stay home. Maybe the recovery will begin. Maybe it won't.
Instead of looking at where to travel in 2021, we're going to look at how to travel in 2021. How can you travel safely and affordably? How can you plan ahead? And maybe most importantly, how can you contribute to building a better world of travel and tourism?
