Let us take you on a journey. Let us take you to a place you may never have visited, or you may only have skimmed the surface of. Let us take you to an ancient place, a historic place, a place of amazing culture and tradition, a place of artists and poets, of inventors and adventurers.

Let us take you to some of the world's great foodie destinations, where hospitality is a way of life, a way of being, and where the act of sharing food is revered. Let us take you to one of the most misunderstood and yet incredible places that this world has to offer: the Middle East.

On this episode of Flight of Fancy I'm joined by Middle East experts Belinda Jackson and Lisa Pagotto to take you deep into the heart of an amazing region, to places such as Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iran… and even Saudi Arabia.

These are places you tend to hear about on the news all the time, though usually for the wrong reasons. They're places you may fear, or at least feel a little trepidation when you picture. They have everything I mentioned before – art, history, culture, beauty and a deep sense of hospitality and generosity – and yet, are these still places you want to visit?
