Travel doesn't happen by chance. The places we go. The things we do. The food we eat. The sights we see. This stuff isn't chosen at random.

For so many of us, the experiences we have as travellers – the best experiences, the most memorable experiences – take place because we've been inspired to do them. We've been inspired by books, by movies, by TV shows, by magazine articles, by Instagram feeds, by celebrities, by friends.

Sometimes that inspiration is subtle and sometimes it's direct, but the fact is we so often choose our adventures because someone else has shown us the way. And it's time to pay tribute to them.
