Flight of Fancy podcast: Things that'll surprise you about Italy

It's one of the world's most popular destinations, a country we've all been to, or are planning to visit just as soon as we can. It's a place of atmospheric cities and antique hill towns, of sun-drenched islands and olive orchards that spread as far as the eye can see.

This episode of Flight of Fancy is dedicated to la bella Italia, a country where there is always another ancient ruin or baroque church to discover, where you will find some of the world's greatest masterpieces of art and architecture and discover a very different approach to life.

I'm joined by fellow Traveller writer and contributor Sue Williams and Intrepid Travel's Tara Harrison, the former editor of Travel Weekly, to discuss all things wonderful and delicious about Italy. And together we'll reveal the best places to visit, from chaotic cities to relaxed hill towns.

Find out where to go, what to do and what to eat, and discover what you should never ever do if you are going to hitchhike your way around Sicily.

A new episode of Flight of Fancy will drop every fortnight this year, so don't miss out. Subscribe to Flight of Fancy on iTunes or your favourite podcasting app.
