Africa gets into your blood. It doesn't matter which part of the continent you visit – north, south, east or west – this place has a way of hooking you forever, of making sure you will always return.

There's such a thrill to countries like South Africa and Botswana, Tanzania and Kenya, Morocco and Tunisia. There's a sense of adventure, of excitement. You never know what a day in Africa will hold, whether it will be good or bad, inspiring or shocking, exciting or devastating.

The only thing that's certain is that you will have some of the best travel experiences of your life in Africa. You will camp under stars, you will rove open plains, you will trek through jungles, you will wander around cities, you will cruise rivers and lakes and oceans. You will see the cradle of humanity, the place we all came from, and realise it's a place to which you will inevitably return.

On this episode of Flight of Fancy, host Ben Groundwater is joined by fellow writers and African travel fanatics Catherine Marshall and Michael Gebicki to give you the lowdown on this amazing continent: the unmissable destinations and experiences that will have you returning again and again.
