There will always be something alluring about the great outdoors. Maybe it's a primal urge. Maybe it's a reaction to this modern life. Whatever it is, travellers will always want to get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer, will always glory in the feeling of being amid forests, mountains, oceans and beaches.

There's just something about the outdoors that a city could never match. There's a feeling of freedom, a feeling of adventure. It recharges your batteries. It reconnects you with what's good about the world.

Sometimes it's a little scary. Sometimes it's lonely. But it's always memorable.

On this episode of Flight of Fancy, the Traveller.com.au podcast, I chat with fellow nature lovers David McGonigal and Georgia Rickard about heading into the great outdoors. The trio are going into the wild to talk about all of the best experiences you can have in the natural world, all of the best places to go and the amazing things you can do.

There will also be a few cautionary tales for those who might be tempted to push their outdoor adventuring just a little too far...
