Award-winning Australian actor Hugh Jackman is Qantas' new official global ambassador.
The X-Men and Les Miserables star, who recently announced a live concert tour of his home country, will promote the airline on the international stage and work with Qantas on projects in Australia.
Jackman says he is looking forward to working with the airline to promote Australia as a tourist destination.
Hugh Jackman will join fellow ambassadors Greg Norman, Adam Goodes, Michael Clarke and John Travolta to lure international travellers Down Under.
"Qantas...represents the very best of our wonderful country," the Golden Globe winner said.
"I'm looking forward to playing my part as we work together to showcase our amazing cities, landscapes and experiences in the US, Asia and beyond."
Jackman will also find time in between his recently-announced live concert tour of Australia to work with Qantas on community projects.
"The Qantas projects I will be getting involved with will create opportunities for Australians to learn, to work and to reach their potential," he said.
"I will also be working directly with Qantas employees to build on the fantastic community work they already do and I can't wait to get started later this year."
Qantas' latest move to boost its image comes after a major restructuring - which included the sacking of thousands of workers - helped the company return to profit after the previous year's record multi-billion dollar loss.
Chief executive Alan Joyce said he was thrilled to welcome Jackman to the team.
