Scenic Eclipse II launches in April.

Scenic Eclipse II launches in April.

Since launching in 2019, Scenic's "Discovery Yacht", Scenic Eclipse I, has been wowing guests with its marvellous capabilities, including two onboard helicopters and an all-electric submersible that late last year, took a lucky few into the depths of the Sea of Cortez for a unique night excursion to witness the Diel Vertical Migration, a movement of millions of tiny fish larvae as they make a 300-metre and hour-long ascent in search of food.

In April, it's Australia's turn to experience the luxurious, cutting-edge yacht as she first sails the east coast on a "Chairman's Voyage", then heads to the Kimberley.

And in the same month, her sister vessel, Scenic Eclipse II, begins her inaugural voyage with an 11-Day itinerary from Lisbon to Barcelona.

Scenic Eclipse II will feature further enhancements to the Discovery Yacht offering.

The Senses Spa, which has dedicated male and female wellness areas with saunas, steam room, colour and cold therapies, relaxation lounges and a manicure/pedicure studio, will, on Scenic Eclipse II, see an expansion of the steam room area to include aromatherapy and integrated ice fountain and experience showers, plus, a salt therapy lounge with technology by leading sauna provider, Klafs, and heated beds.

Deck 10 features a new bar area with indoor and outdoor seating and this second iteration will have a large, oval-shaped pool. A pool was removed on Scenic Eclipse I to make way for an extension of the Yacht Club.

Scenic Eclipse II is also scheduled to head Down Under, first travelling here via the 19-day Tales of the Pacific voyage from Valparaiso, Chile to Papeete, Tahiti in March next year at the end of her maiden Antarctic season.

That voyage piggybacks onto Scenic's 13-day Treasures Unfold itinerary sails from Papeete, Tahiti to Lautoka, Fiji, followed by a nine-day Mysteries of Melanesia cruise to Sydney (via New Caledonia and Norfolk Island). She will then reposition to Newcastle for the Chairman's Voyage (Scenic's founding city).

And from May 2024, Scenic Eclipse II will do 12 11-day Kimberley sailings operating between Darwin and Broome.

Following that, in September and October, Eclipse II will cruise Indonesia, West Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Zealand, concluding in early November 2024 in Auckland.

She's also scheduled to head to Antarctica from New Zealand via Tasmania, an exciting prospect for frozen continent fans who've usually had to head there from Argentina or Chile.

She'll do three cruises in the East Antarctic and Ross Sea region for the 2024/25 season, giving guests the opportunity to follow the travels of Mawson, Scott and Shackleton.
