Langham Residence at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich: Hotel's new European palace property costs $57,000 a night

For a stay with a royal touch (with a price to match) and steeped in Bavarian tradition Langham Hotels and Resorts has opened its residence facing the imperial estate of Nymphenburg Palace in Munich.

The two-year restoration of the manor is on the grounds of the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory which has been producing high-quality handmade porcelain since the 1700s.

Naturally, the residence which has four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three living rooms, dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen, fitness centre, home cinema and wine cellar, features curated pieces from the Nymphenburg workshop.

The Royal Bavarian Spa has a traditional blue-and-white colour scheme with 24-carat gold detailing hand-painted views of royal Bavarian castles such as Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Herrenchiemsee.

From the dining room on the ground floor, guests enjoy a direct view over the estate to Nymphenburg Palace. The dining table, which seats up to 12, is framed by two sculptures by Damien Hirst and has a Lindsey Adelman chandelier of brushed gold combined with Nymphenburg porcelain.

The living room on the floor above has wall-to-wall shelves displaying a curated collection of Nymphenburg porcelain pieces and the private terrace sits among a landscaped garden with enough room to seat extra 100 guests.

Langham Hospitality Group chief executive Stefan Leser says the residence will provide the amenities of a luxury hotel stay with the personalised touches of a private home.
